Central Oregon Wedding Styled Shootout with STYLEDYOU by Mae&Co Creative
Updated: Aug 25, 2020

What a fun and crazy week it’s been getting my camera out every day and just going for it. Last week I did my second ever styled shoot, this time with @styledyou_ and @maeandco_creative. I’ve spent so long with photography worrying about what others would think of me: I didn’t go to school for this, I’m just an amateur, I don’t know what I’m doing... the list goes on. But I’m finally feeling GOOD and I’m just leaning into it .
Bridal portraits with Amber

I took over 1,400 photos at yesterday’s shootout and swear that 1,000 of them were of @ambernicotra.

I still haven't finished editing the rest of the photos from this day. Can't wait to share the rest!
Camera settings: as usual I'm shooting with my Sony Alpha 6500 and my Sony 16-35 F2.8 lens. A few detail shots I took with my Sony 85mm prime. With this much backlight, I'm always trying to keep my shutter speed low. When shooting people, the lowest I'll go is 1/60 though a few of these are at 1/50. With backlight, I try not to go over 1/125 though a few of these are at 1/160. Some of the darker window shots I've brought my shutter speed up to 1/1000. When we get outside I'm in the middle at 1/320 or so. For range I'm shooting all over the place with wide shots in the 16mm-20mm range and the closer personal shots from 25mm-35mm. Almost always at F2.8. ISO changing but keeping it mostly between 200 and 800. Edited in Lightroom using my favorite Magnolia presets by Champagne Unicorns.
